The digital vignette

Since 2019 it is possible to use a digital vignette instead of the conventional vignette.

Please note the following for the digital vignette. The vignette is ordered via the internet and due to the Consumer Protection Act, if you order something on the internet, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal.
This means you have to plan in advance, because the vignette is only valid in 14 days. This must also be observed when purchasing 10-day or 10-month vignettes!

Now I would like to take a closer look at the advantages and disadvantages of the vignette!

• Disadvantages: One problem with the digital vignette is that if you buy a new car and change the number plate, you will have to pay a fee even though you have already paid. You also have to be careful not to make a typing mistake or get the numbers wrong when ordering, because then of course the wrong number plate is stored and you will have to pay a replacement toll again for the change.
• Advantages: A big advantage of the digital vignette, however, is of course that I don’t have to scratch around on my windscreen every year to remove the expired vignette! Another advantage is that if I have damage to the windscreen, I can change the windscreen without any problems, as the vignette is registered on the number plate anyway. Even when I buy a new car, I have no problems with the vignette if I simply take over the number plates!
